Good communications and reliable navigation are critical to your enjoyment of boating and the safety of all on board, which is why we take it very seriously. Fortunately there is wide range of equipment available from a number of very reputable manufacturers. We can help you to find your way through the (sometimes) confusing array of options, tell you what systems will work together and what doesn't really work at all ! As with our other services we can integrate different systems and manufacturers products reliably to get you the information you need in a format that works for you. Communications - as well as the standard waterproof handheld, installed DSC/VHF and multi-station DSC/VHF's we can integrate the systems - for example use the same telephone style handset on the bridge or charthouse to call by VHF or make a dialled satellite call via Iridium. Or integrate your VHF and UHF onboard communications with fewer handsets. Talk to us - we create solutions for you! Navigation - combined GPS/chartplotter/radar is common enough now, but do you want the position of incoming DSC/VHF alerts to show on your chart screen? Safety - worried about cruising fast at night or in poor visibility - something like 20,000 containers are lost from cargo vessels each year and many float just at the surface for weeks: at 20+ knots you have very little time to see them and an impact would usually be very serious. But with forward looking sonar you can get an alert up to 1000 metres ahead, and the system still works in shallow water or rough sea conditions. |
